Busy/ Sick Week

What a week!  Well over a week of sickness in this house.  Last week poor Logan got so so sick really fast.  He had a bad fever and was miserable.  Of course by the time I realized he probably had influenza it was 8 pm so we had to go to an Urgent Care.  They got us right in and sure enough he had the flu even though he had a flu shot a few months ago!  They gave him some Tamiflu and he was better a few days later.  We were all feeling lucky we didn't get it but then Kenz started coughing so I figured it was the flu as well and called and had the Urgent Care call some Tamiflu in for her.  Well that stuff is nasty and bitter and we had the hardest time getting Kenzi to take it.  She started acting better so we just gave up and figured she had fought it off on her own.  Monday came and she still had a runny nose and cough but I just thought it was a cold.  Tuesday she was miserable so we dropped Logan off at preschool and headed to the doctors.  Sure enough she had a secondary infection on top of the influenza, a ear infections and the beginnings of pneumonia:(  Poor little lady.  They started her on some heavy duty antibiotics and albuterol in the neutralizer to help with her cough.  Just 24 hours later she was doing so much better!

In the middle of all the sickness the kids got new bunk beds!!  (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Hanson:) ) They love them and the transition was so easy.  No trouble as of yet!

On Wednesday Logan had his 4 year check up.  He weighed 37 lb and was 41 in.  (60-65%)  Big boy:)  He had to have two shots.  He knew that after his shots he would get a few suckers and that was enough for him, he didn't even cry and just kept his eye on the prize!  So proud he was so brave.

Also, Brett started with EIRMC on Monday and has loved it so far.   He says it gets better and better everyday and is exceeding his expectations.  So wonderful!  He finally has a set schedule and works from about 8-4:30, I love knowing he will be home at night!

And finally we planned a getaway in Florida just Brett and I in just over a month.  Brett is being sent there for a convention for EIRMC so I am tagging along!  The kids will stay with Shannon for 4 full days, I don't know if it will be harder on me or the kids...prob me, but I am so excited to just spend time with Brett and the Florida sun and pool at the hotel...but mostly Brett:)

Here's to more adventures in the coming months!  I can't wait!

Heavenly Father has a plan, I just need to remember that!

Life has been such a whirlwind lately.  I can't believe how fast the days and weeks go, I just can't keep up.  We still only have one car......which can make things super interesting.  Anyway, with that being said I hope things slow down in the next few months.

First off my sweet little Logan is a Sunbeam and guess who are his teachers.....yep Brett and I.  I am so glad, I was worried he would struggle with the transition from nursery to primary, but he LOVES it:)  The first Sunday the kids were sick so I went and taught by myself, there were only 3 kids so it was pretty easy, but this past Sunday there were 8, nine including Kenzi who refuses to go to nursery :| It was really entertaining.  It was funny, Logan was a little weirded out seeing us as the teachers, but he loved it.

So, Brett has been graduated for just over a month now.  The job hunt is rough, I hate it.  He had several interviews including some in Arizona and Utah.  We were hopeful and ready to move where ever we needed too, that was why we had sold our home.  We were offered a job in Utah, but the pay was awful, we would have been on the streets.  So we kept looking.  Just before Christmas some weird crap happened at Brett's work, needless to say he didn't go back.  It was scary, but he called his old boss and started doing odd jobs for him at the hospital, EIRMC.  Not too soon after he started there a guy he was friends with approached him about a possible job opportunity in hospital administration.  Brett worked off and on at EIRMC the last 6 years with his old job, so he know a lot of people there.  When we heard about the possible job, we really didn't put too much thought into it.  Anywho, to make a long story short today Brett was offered a job at EIRMC in their administration.

We were exstatic!  So we had to celebrate with Sushi:)

Brett is excited to start in the next few weeks and is so excited to have a big boy job.  I can't wait to start this time in our life.  I am excited we don't have to move, even though it would have been fun, it will be nice to still be close to family and friends.  I am excited to go house hunting in the next few months and to have a routine.

The cool part of this whole story is how much you can see the Lords hand in all of this.  We have prayed and fasted and prayed and fasted for Brett to find a job that would be a good fit.  Brett leaving his other job and starting with his previous employer, (where he worked before going back to school),  was not something we had planned on, but if that had not happened he would have never known about this job.   It is so easy to not have faith and feel sorry for yourself, but I am so thankful for this time of trial, my faith in the Lords time has been strengthened.  I need to remember who is in charge and have patience.

Hehe

We are all very excited so here are some funny pictures of my kids from my phone..

Logan turns 4!

Logan had a pretty good Birthday, even though he was sick.  The day before his Birthday he woke with a really high fever.  He missed preschool and taking treats for his Birthday:(  I felt bad, but Logan just wanted to lay around all day.  He slept all afternoon on Thursday and when he woke up around 5 pm he was miserable.  I called my office and they said to just come over so we didn't have to go to an instacare.  When we got there Logan's fever was 102.2, poor thing.  Dr. Christensen said his throat looked pretty red and started him on some antibiotics.  He perked up a little after that and requested dinner and ice cream, for his throat, from Chick Fil a:)

He had a fever off and on all night and then laid around all day on his birthday in his new pj's until it was Party time.
Logan was spoiled and was so in love with all the attention from everyone!
I usually make cakes because I am cheap, but Logan had been checking out the cakes at Walmart, so Kenzi and I surprised him with a Cars Cake.  He was in heaven!

Happy Birthday little buddy.  We are so glad you are in our family!

Kenz took off with some candy out of one of Logan's presents when he wasn't looking.

Here is Kenzi hiding and eating Logan's candy.

Kenz loves Chocolate pudding.......
