Play-doh

Aunt Shannon decided Logan needed play-doh for Christmas, and he LOVES it!  On Monday we did a little FHE about Temples then made Temples out of Play-doh and ate no-bake cookies.  Logan loved building the Temples out of Play-doh, almost as much as Brett!

Change is good, change is good....

I hate change, seriously hate it, but I am starting to realize it can be a good thing.  We made it through our first week of many changes.  All I can say is how overwhelmed I feel with all the blessings we have received.   Just to start last week Brett took the week off before he started school so we could just relax as a family and get things ready for our new adventure (even though we were all sick all week! yuck!).  The first of last week looked pretty glum for us.  We went to the State Office building to see if we could put the kids on Medicaid and see if we were eligible for any other assistance because at the time we were unemployed and would be full time students.  Well after waiting in line forever we quickly found out we were not eligible for anything;(  Frustrated for sure.  That soon changed though.  When we got home we looked at the student health insurance through ISU and to our surprise it was not much more to add the kids with Brett and I.  Relief!  Next step, employment.  We were getting a little nervous because we really didn't have any prospects for jobs, especially in this economy, but knew financially we needed at least part time income to get us through this year.  Well Friday rolled around and I got a call from my old boss at the Family Practice I worked at for several years.  She was in need of part time help and the hours were PERFECT!  What a wonderful blessing.  I started there this week and everything went great, it was like I never left and Brett did great with the kids while I was at work!

I really wanted Brett to just focus on school, but he is just too much of a busy body and found part time work at a local place here in Shelley at Ag Parts (Thanks to my dad:).  The hours for him will be pretty random, but we are thankful for it anyways.

Lastly, Brett had all of his classes this week and they all seem pretty good.  He enjoyed most of them and is looking forward to the end of the semester.... I mean looking forward to learning a lot.

I guess I just needed to write this down because of how blessed we have been.  Brett quitting his job to return to school was something we have gone back and forth on for a while, it's a scary thing!  But when we made the decision to go ahead and do it a few months ago it felt so right.  I know this is what our Heavenly Father wants us to be doing right now, and He is helping us.   Having Brett gone all last year for work was hard on all of us, but sometimes you have to go through bad times to really appreciate the good times.  ---Like Brett sleeping in his own house every night!!  Holla!  Here's to 2012!!!

Well I guess Friday the 13th is a good day!

And whats a post without some pics!
Here is Kenzi in here new favorite spot, standing up going through the diaper bag:)

Logan no longer will look at the camera! Drives me bananas!

Also, yesterday my Grandma turned 95!  She is amazing, still as sharp as a tack and remembers everything:)  We just love her:)
Happy Birthday Grandma!

Birthday Boy

Logan was born on a cold snowy day, three years later it was 45 degrees and didn't really feel like January 4th.  The weather was beautiful today for Logan's birthday.  We spent some time outside then went to Chick fil-a for lunch so Logan could play on the slide, he loves it there:)  Then we watched Rio and ate popcorn.

Logan's 3rd Bithday

Well it happened, my little boy turned 3.  I can hardly believe it:(  He is such a good boy and we just love him.
We had an early Birthday party for him on Saturday before Shannon and her kids headed back to Utah.   (Good thing too, because we have been so sick that it wouldn't have happened on his actual birthday)  I did it at my parents house so that I could decorate and get things ready while Logan was napping.  Shannon and her kids helped a bunch and we had it all ready for him when he got there.  He was a little surprised and wasn't sure what was going on, but soon warmed up to things and had a blast.  He loved knowing it was all for him:)

We played a fishing game for candy and a birthday blower and also played pin the funnel on Thomas:)

I made him the little train cake out of rice crispy treats and candy then the number three cake had the train tracks on it.   Logan immediately tried to put the train on the train tracks:)

We let him blow out the candles twice or maybe even a few more times, it was fun to see him try and do it, he kept blowing up instead of out, he was sure trying hard:)

Logan is such a sweet 34 pound little boy, he really takes care of his little sister and is very good to share with her.  He still loves his movies and his chocolate milk.

We just love you Logan, Happy Birthday little buddy!

Drivin along in my automobile..

Logan and Kenzi play pretty good together which is so wonderful:)  I hope it is always like that.

They both love the little truck Santa brought Logan.  Logan always wants Kenzi to get in and ride with him, too cute.
