Brett's Graduation Party

We had a fun little Graduation Party for Brett on Dec. 22nd.  I was so thankful for those that showed up and showed support to Brett.  He worked really hard this year!  So glad he is done and we are moving on.

Movie time with Uncle Dustin!

Peyton's momma Tiff was there, not sure how I didn't get a pic of her, sorry Tiff!

Life lately...

The month of December is just flying by!  Brett will be DONE DONE with school tomorrow!  Tomorrow!  I can hardly believe it.  It has be one crazy year.  At the beginning of the year I joked I wanted the year to go really fast and was counting down to Christmas 2012.  Well I sure got my wish, this year has flown by!

So much has happened and we have really enjoyed having Brett around so much.  I can't believe this part of our lives, the schooling part, is almost over.  It has been a long haul.  Brett and I just  celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary.  In those six years of marriage at least one of us has been a fun time student.  I don't know what we are going to do with all of our free time in the evenings and weekends!  We know education is important and hope that all of our hard work will pay off in the end;)

Our anniversary fell on a Sunday this year.  So on Saturday we went to dinner then did a little shopping, while the kids played at Grandma and Grandpa Hanson's.
6 years~ seems like yesterday:)

The kids and I are home a lot without a car so we have watched many movies, many Christmas movies lately.  Logan loves a Christmas Story, just like his momma.  He quotes lines from it all the time.  For instance while eating breakfast the other morning he said to Brett "listen jerk when I tell you to come, you better come"  Brett started laughing so Logan said, " Oh are you gonna cry, cry baby cry"  Yikes!  HAHAHA!
Then last Friday night the kids and I went to the Christmas play and musical at Calvary Chapel and in the middle of the play Logan said to me " you used up all the glue on purpose!"  Then he said "Scott Farkus!"
Yesterday consisted mostly of "not a finga!"
Oh how we love our little Christmas critter and movie junkie:)

Kenzi also enjoys her 'shows.'  I don't know if she had a choice;/  She will sit and watch shows with her brother and loves to demand them even on short car rides.
Kenzi's little, or I should say large, vocabulary is hilarious.  She is always making us laugh.  She is putting sentences together and can really communicate well, which is wonderful since poor Logan had such a hard time:(
The other morning she said " Is Daddy at work?"  She says "ready, set, go" and "hi Baby"  a lot since she is so in love with little ones:)   Kenzi is so sweet but is also a little terror sometimes.  Brett and I are trying to recover from last night when she decided 2 am was morning and refused to go back to sleep until....who knows when, somewhere between 4-5 am.  Whoo!  But we love her tons and are so glad the funny little lady is in our family.

This is probably pretty boring to most, but I have really been thinking I need to treat my blog more like a journal then a place to record all of the 'fun' 'exciting' things in life.  That is unrealistic for any of my posterity that will read this.  Life isn't always fun, even though the blogs seems like it is.  Life is HARD.  Really hard.  There are scary things going on all around.  I am so scared for my kids and what this world is becoming, but I am so thankful for the Gospel and how much comfort it brings to me and my kids, I hope they always stay close to the Church and their Heavenly Father.

Last Saturday there was snow on the ground, not even very much.  Logan was dying to play in it and eat it...  So Brett bundled both Kenz and Logan up and headed out back.  It was so fun watching them play and laugh.  I love moments like this.  I was so much in love with my sweet husband for being such a good daddy to our two cute kids that I didn't get a picture.  I of course stayed inside cause it was COLD! :)

Sunday after Church Kenzi fell asleep on me while I was cleaning up and fixing dinner.  She slept for over three hours!  When she woke up we drove around looking at Christmas lights.  Logan kept saying "this is so tool!"  It was a good Sunday.

This week is of course flying and pretty soon we will be in the thick of all the Christmas fun!  Saturday we have a Hanson family party and Brett's Graduation Party.  Then Christmas Eve and Christmas!  The kids are going to be so much fun this Christmas!  I wrapped a few presents for others with the kids help so we could have some under the tree.  They lasted a few days, but then I guess Kenzi forgot what she had wrap and opened a few.  Then Logan keeps asking if he can open one???  It is pretty funny:)

Brett and I don't know what is in store for our little family in the next few months, but we do know Heavenly Father is looking out for us and knows what is best.  We just need to have FAITH!

Christmas Pictures!

Taking pictures of your own kids is HARD!  These two gave me a run for my money.  Not the best pictures, but I still love how cute my littles look:)

Merry Christmas from Logan and Kenzington!

Unedited pictures, but still priceless:)

Gingerbread Train!!

The kids and I ran to Sams Club today for a few things. We came across a gingerbread Christmas train with train station kit.  There was no way we were leaving the store without it, both Kenz and Logs got so excited, and truthfully I did too.  Logan kept saying "this is so tool!"  I wanted to wait a few days to build it and decorate it, so Brett could help, but that was not going to happen.  As soon as we got home Logan was at the kitchen table ready to get busy making his gingerbread train.

We had a lot of fun building this cute little thing, the kids enjoyed way too much candy and icing. After over an hour of working on it Logan was so frustrated he couldn't 'drive' the train around or hook it to the house and pull it around..silly kid:)  He also insisted on a lot of the candy going in the train cart to be the 'coal.'

*Love Christmas time*

This is what I found the next day after I got out of the shower.  Logan took the opportunity to eat as much as he could while I was busy.  There was white flakes of frosting throughout the entire house. HA!

The Lights at Temple Square

Brett had a job interview in Salt Lake yesterday so the kids and I went down with him for the day.  The kids and I had fun going to Build a Bear at the Gateway and to Target while dad was busy.  Shannon even came in and shopped with us.
After shopping we went to California Pizza Kitchen and then to Temple Square.  Shannon, Kirra, Kory and Tysen came.  Logan ran all over Temple square with Tysen.  Devrey and Chandler came and Dustin, Amy and Luke!  It was great to see everyone even though it was crazy busy and super cold we had a ton of fun!

(my pictures are kind of blurry cause I was messing around with the settings on my camera trying to get the best lighting, didn't turn out to well ;/ )
