2011 in a nutshell

2011 is coming to close.  This is so hard for me to believe me.  This year has definitely been one of the hardest years of my life.  To say I am excited for the new year is an understatement.  At the beginning of 2011 Brett learned that he would be out of town for work during the week.  We both thought this may be temporary, but soon realized it was not.  Brett ended up spending the entire year out of town working in Jackson and only home on the weekends.  This was so so hard, especially after Kenzi was born.  Being a single mom during the week was no fun.  We prayed and prayed on what to do.  Brett looked for a different job for several months, but in this economy it is very difficult.  We noticed a lot of jobs preferred a little more education, a masters degree.  Brett has always wanted to get his masters, but we always said we would wait and "do it later":)  We looked into Brett starting school at ISU in January for his MBA and everything felt so right. Because his undergrad is in Business the entire first year of the MBA program is waived.  Everything has fallen into to place as well.  Applying and getting ready for school has gone very smoothly and on January 9th Brett will start the MBA program at ISU.  Even better he will be home with us because he had to quit his job (scary leap of faith)  in order to start school.  Brett and I were very grateful for his job, even if it was a little rough, with a tough economy, there is a good chance we may not even have had one when he finished his bachelors, but now it is time to move on.  Brett and I are so excited for this new adventure for our family.  His classes should be good.  They are night classes in Idaho Falls from 6-8:45 Monday through Thursday this semester and the Fall semester. During the summer he will only go to class on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  We are grateful we have this opportunity so close to home.  Living off savings and hopefully a good tax return (crossing fingers) will be hard, but so worth it in the end, especially because Brett will be around more:)  Brett will graduate in December 2012.  So I am counting down the days until next Christmas!

With a rough year comes good as well and I can't forget to mention that.  I was finally able to finish my Bachelors and graduated in April from BYU-I.  Our sweet little Kenzington was born healthy and strong the first part of May.  We had a nice summer and beautiful Fall.  Brett's sister Devrey was married in October and Christmas was AWESOME:)

2011 for the Kiddos

Logan:

- keeps us going.  He is hilarious and also very rambunctious.
- loves milk, especially -Chochat milk and dink chochat milk (strawberry milk)
- for the most part loves and adores Kenzi and loves to make her laugh.
- he sings songs and loves I am a Child of God, he also finally loves nursery and says he is thankful for Church in his prayers at night:)
-Logan does funny things like using cars as his own port-a potty.  He has for months, mostly in the summer if he would get in a car he would inevitably poop.  Hilarious and kind of annoying because we knew if he was in the car he had pooped in his pullup.  Now that he doesn't access to cars as much with the cold weather he finds a corner and if you ask him if he needs to go potty and he says "no, go, just jo" - waving you away.
-Talking is coming a little easier for Logan, after his surgery for Tonsils and adenoids in July he has made a lot of improvement.  His sentences are hilarious.  My personal favorite is when he says things like, "no its a me's"
-Faces his toys or cars toward each other and says "hi, good to see you"
-Santa was in drains in floors or in vents in walls "sleeping" according to Logan this year.
- Still LOVES movies and loved all the Christmas movies, including Christmas Story and Christmas Cation (Vacation).

Kenzington:

-Loves to eat! As of Monday she weighed 19 lbs 2 oz.
-Crawls everywhere and gets into everything:)  She is my little vacuum and finds lots of yummy stuff to eat on the ground..not!
-says Ma ma and da da - love this, melts my heart.
-loves balloon, goes crazy when she sees them.
-Is getting a lot of brown hair and still has blue, blue eyes.
-loves Logan's toys, which is sometimes a little hard for Logan.
-is trying so hard to grow up, too fast:(
-pulls herself up to standing position and dances.
-She loves to be home and has a hard time being out and about. (A little hard given that Logan loves just the opposite.)

Merry Christmas

Christmas Morning was wonderful.  Logan and Kenzi had a great time opening their presents.  They were spoiled by Santa for sure!

Both got laptops:)

Logan got his Dinosaur Train!  He thought it was pretty cool.

Kenzi's first baby doll, I was so excited to give this to her.

I promise she loved it! ...or will eventually:)

Logan loved his Mack Truck that holds all of his little cars and trains, and he loved his big truck too!

Logan took a nap so Kenzi decided to take a spin in his truck!

After opening presents and going to Church we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Hanson's for lunch and more presents.
Matt, Jessie, Tyler, Isaac and Kennedy were there to!  It was great to see them.
Kenzi was in an awful mood but still had fun with cute little Kennedy.

Logan loved having cousins to play with at Grandma and Grandpas.

We then headed to my Grandma's to have a quick visit.  She was happy to see everyone and is doing great! (She will be 95 in a few weeks and is still going strong:)

We had a wonderful Christmas this year.  I love Christmas and am sad it is already over again for an entire year.
The Christmas Season has such a wonderful Spirit.  I am so grateful for the Birth of the Savior and for everything that means for me and my family.  We are truly blessed.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve

Shannon was at Kings yesterday and they were giving away their real Christmas trees, my sister of course coudn't pass up a free tree and brought it home to my parents house.  It smelled so good even though it was frozen solid at first.  The kid had a great time decorating it.  It was a fun way to start the Christmas eve festivities.

My dad liked the present we got him:)

Kenzi loved her little activity table

Logan got a dinosaur he thought was pretty cool

Brett let Logan fly his little helicopter when we got home, Logan loves it, check out that smile:)

Better get to bed so Santa can come!

Just waiting for Christmas:)

Kenzi is crawling everywhere now.  She is also starting to pull herself up to standing position.  It so crazy how fast they learn things.  She also got her first tooth last Friday, bottom left.  Teething has been awful for her, poor little thing:(

Logan is so excited for Santa to come!

Today we made little Gingerbread houses.  They both loved it.  Logan ate more candy before it could even make it on his little house.  When candy finally made it on his little house he would take it off and eat it, funny little kid.  Logan also made sure Kenzi was getting some candy, he kept giving her M&M's and she was loving it!
